Wow.
We thought 2021 was a BIG year for us, but 2022 proved to be even BIGGER! We are officially 4.5 years old; we’re a “small” business in all the air quotes. We’re staying true to our local roots, but growing more in size and spirit each day. We’ve attempted to fit all of our 2022 highlights into a few bullet points:
We moved!
We purchased a facility in Cottage Grove, which now houses our main offices, warehouse, kitchen, and… (drumroll, please)... break room! Our retail storefront will remain open on Atwood Ave as well.
We sold nuts!
We expanded our list of retail partners into over 100 more local grocery & specialty stores across the country. That includes being featured in every single Whole Foods in the Midwest—68 total locations!
We created a new flavor!
We crafted a holiday spice-inspired Fortune Favors flavor called Winter Warmer, and a holiday tin to go along with it. We hope to make it available as a standalone flavor next year!
We volunteered!
Our team used their paid volunteer hours to help fill and distribute Thanksgiving baskets at the annual Goodman Thanksgiving Basket Drive. Goodman Community Center was able to give out 4,010 baskets to local families this year!
We launched our very own snack mix!
Eric’s Up North Mix, a blend of Fortune Favors, Door County dried cherries, and dark chocolate, became an instant hit. We’re so excited to continue to provide this new classic for our customers!
We got more retail space!
Moving our kitchen to Cottage Grove meant we could move our e-commerce shipping operations out of our retail space, and that made a lot of room for new products from other small businesses around Wisconsin and elsewhere. Highlights include greeting cards, Brandyland, Hammond’s candies, American Spoon, and Ritual Chocolate!
We made it into ice cream!
We’re honored to supply Fortune Favors as an ingredient in ice cream flavors at two local shops—Good News Ice Cream (Butter Pecan) and Ice Cream Social (A Song of Fire & Ice).
We supported our staff!
We added a vision plan to our existing health and dental employee benefits package. We were also able to give members of our staff an annual raise and holiday bonus.
We were voted #1 Artisan Food Product in Best of Madison 2022!
#3 in 2019, #2 in 2021, and #1 in 2022! What’ll it be next year? :)
2023 will bring new flavors, new nut mixes, new merchandise and a surprise bigger than you could ever imagine!
