Granola is delicious on its own, but Fortune Favors candied pecans takes it to a whole new level. This recipe will satisfy your appetite, your sweet tooth, AND your nutritional hopes and dreams...enjoy!
Fortune Favors Maple Granola
(Makes about 2 pounds)
1 c. maple syrup
1/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. sunflower or safflower oil
pinch of salt
6 cups rolled oats (may use gluten free oats to keep the recipe gluten free)
1/2 c. flax seeds (golden or brown both work equally well)
3-4 ounces Fortune Favors The Classic, chopped just a little (may leave whole if preferred)
Pre-heat oven to 300 degrees F.
Mix maple syrup, brown sugar, oil, and salt together, getting any lumps of brown sugar dissolved.
In a larger bowl, combine the oats and flax seeds, and with your hands mix in the wet mixture until thoroughly combined. Spread out onto to baking sheet pans lined with parchment paper and place in oven. Allow to bake for 30 minutes, remove from oven and turn granola over with a spatula. Return to oven for another 35 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to cool completely. Then add Fortune Favors The Classic pecans and store in an airtight container for up to 10 days.
